The annual bluebell carpets at Spring Wood are now almost fully out. They are one of the best shows of blue bells you will see. It was a cold dull day but they still looked impressive. Spring Wood was once owned by the monks of Whalley Abbey and was originally called Oxheywoode. It formed part of a larger medieval deer park which can still be traced on maps. Spring Wood lies astride the A671 near Whalley. There are car parks, toilets and even an ice cream van. Photos by Joe.
